Role Models/Inspirations

While watching the VH1 Hip Hop Honors last nite, i was reminded of a couple of my role models/Inspirations.

Listening to the biography of LL Cool J, reminded me why i find him to be a role model. Coming up from a broken family and the worse of situations, he was able to bring himself up. It was never an easy path, but one full of challenges that he pushed himself to overcome. His thoughts on whether or not he'd be a good father after his own childhood, vices surrounding him as he was young and successful, and even violence growing up. You hear about these stories all the time, but what really impresses me about him is his continual ability to push himself for the better. Musician, artist, actor...and especially father to his kids. If you watch the clips and see the energy he puts into his endeavors, there is no question he is driven.




There are quite a number of other inspirations in my life (which i won't delve why at this time); The Rock, Bruce Lee, my kuya kerwin, my family.

U know...i do browse to my blogger page each day to check up and read everyone else's blog..but just havent' been motiviated to write up my own stuff as of late.
so..after the "gentle" prodding of anny...who kindly came to visit me...i'll spit something out right now. Just a brief update..but things are starting to go back to normal..so hopefully more to come.

PMX is over. Yeah! It was a great show even thought there weren't that many people there to enjoy it. Personally i had a lot of fun with the performers and friends that came out. Still thinking about what i want my role in the organization to be..prob one of the reasons i'm still dragging my feet on closing out some things...but we'll just see what the new year brings.

Happy beleated Sept birthdays to: Edward, Kelly, Al, Carlo, Maureen, Bernadette, Bonnie, and soon my cousin Miko.

Got back together with Karen. Hard to believe we were actually seperated..but for the most part things are going well. The 344 crew (Garland, Karen, and myself) have been going on a food fest and convention weekends.
Read Karen's post for pics..and garland's for the Pink's adventure. Tried for Diddy Reese cookie after picking up Garland from the airport, but unfortunately it was closed.

In other news...actually found a workout crew and having a lot of fun doing it. Tues/Thur/Sundays - hanging out with Ed and Andre and pushing weight, turbo kick boxing, and street hip hop at 24hour fitness. Granted i'm already skipping out on 2 days since last week =p, its fun to actually have people to push you to do better. We're actually planning a halloween party Oct 29. Any ideas for fun halloween games are greatly appreciated.

Other than that, Had a fun karaoke party..and actually revisited tokyo delves. Its under renovation, so i dont' recomend any other parties there for the next month. Place was a bit cramped and althought we happily and unhappily sent our brother Hanz back to the Philippines, the other groups at the restaurant were pretty boring. Stayed relatively sober (very different from the last time) and actually enjoyed the food. *shakes head in memory of that infamous day in May*

Well..guess thats it....
I'm back...

2 days away...and hotmail is up to 10pages.

Got to talk to Rex today..and i think we finalized everything. He's gonna do the show as free for attendees =). Course there is still priority seating if u buy a priority ticket...but all in all, i think i worked out for the best.
